Stress and Christians

June 18, 2010

There are too many times in the day when I need to stop what I’m doing, be still, and hear Jesus tell me what He told Martha in Luke 10:

“You are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

I get preoccupied with life and its many troubles and seem to forget Who is in control. Does that ever happen to you?

Lord, help me to be less consumed with the problems of this world and all consumed with You. Please forgive me when I stress out and remind me that You are the only place where we will ever find peace in this crazy, busy world.

My latest article at Forthright is about one of those hectic, stressful times. Check it out here:

There are time I get so caught up stressing over stuff, I can’t focus and forget what really matters in life.

When I’m stressed, it’s amazing how God’s word can bring me back to reality about what’s important.
